About us
Aarohan is a unique endeavour, the first of its kind in the North-East India- a center dedicated to the all-round development of children using novel concepts and programmes.
Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia had established the Bhabendra Nath Saikia Children Welfare Trust (Registered under the Indian Charitable Trust Act) in February, 2001. On 20 th February, 2002, construction for Aarohan, the first project of the Trust, started at Guwahati, Assam. From 15 th May, 2005 Aarohan started functioning with a mission to provide children with education, inspiration and guidance in a nurturing environment that will empower them to rise beyond their circumstances to achieve goals that will bring a meaningful change in their lives as well as the lives of those around them.
In Dr. Saikia's words - " a child who spends 5 years at Aarohan will step out a stronger person with values and ideas that will help him grow into an able, conscientious and diligent adult ".
Our Process
Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia was born on February 20, 1932 in Nagaon Town in central Assam . He passed matriculation examination in 1948, securing star marks. He secured his B.Sc. Degree with honours in Physics from Cotton College in 1952 and M.Sc. in Physics from Presidency College of Calcutta University in 1955 - 1956.

The Resource Center have 16,000 square feet of space, spanning 4 floors, beautifully designed to accommodate the various activities and work areas. A bronze statue of Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia in the premises. It consists of the following.
